CBS have released a trailer for the latest season of their hit Conan-Doyle inspired series, Elementary.

Starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu, the fourth season of Robert Doherty’s show looks set to unveil a number of mysteries regarding Sherlock’s past, including the sudden and long-awaited appearance of his father, Morland Holmes (John Noble).

The trailer also reveals a new, tumultuous dynamic between Holmes and Watson, as it is suggested that the events of the season three finale have resulted in the crime-solving duo being sidelined by the NYPD.

Luckily, the irresistable charm of their partnership is still evident to see, as we also catch a cheeky glimpse at Sherlock holding a beatbox in the air in true John Cusack-in-Say Anything fashion.

Elementary is set to return in the US on 5th November. A UK airdate has yet to be confirmed by Sky Living.
